CLWR Latrine Project

In celebration of our 170th Anniversary year, St. Matthew’s has chosen the Canadian Lutheran World Relief Building a Latrine project as our mission project starting June 1st.

A gift of $200 provide a refugee family with the materials to build their own latrine, improving health, hygiene and safety for the whole family.

People are welcome to donate to this project throughout the year by marking “CLWR Latrine” on their church envelope or by sending a cheque to the church indicating it is for the CLWR Latrine Project.

During September- December we will be collecting loose change for our Latrine Project in a wooden outhouse in the foyer.

October 1st we will be holding a toilet seat wreath decorating afternoon at the church following a potluck lunch. The team with the toilet seat wreath that receives the most donations collected during October are the winners. All donations received will go towards the project.

Good news! We have collected enough in donations for 5 Latrines as of July 31st! Thank you for your support!
