Our very special group of knitters meet each Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock and they begin their gathering with prayer for those who will receive the work of their hands.
Prayer shawls, prayer blankets, winter hats, scarves, baby hats, and hats for premature babies are lovingly prepared each week. This is a very dynamic group! All are welcome to join. Skill in knitting/crocheting is not required as they learn from each other. They will even teach you how to knit!
If you have need of a prayer shawl/blanket, please contact Pastor Joanna and she will be happy to visit you.
During 2023, as part of our 170th Anniversary celebration, our knitters were working on making 170 hats to share with others. They ended up making over 791 hats! They made baby hats for Grand River hospital, winter hats for children and youth for WCHC and warm winter hats for the homeless.
In February of 2024, our prayer shawl knitting group celebrated their 15th Anniversary!
