St. Matthew’s Conestogo is now a RIC setting!
On March 10, 2024, we at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Conestogo adopted our revised Welcome Statement and Policy. In June, St. Matthew’s officially became a Reconciling in Christ setting with Reconciling Works. The RIC program is made up of congregations, synods, colleges, seminaries, outdoor ministries, and other Lutheran organizations. The Reconciling in Christ (RIC) program is a public way for faith communities to see, name, celebrate, and advocate for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions and members of the BIPOC communities.
The purpose of the RIC program is to ensure the welcome, inclusion, celebration, and advocacy for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions; work for racial equality and commit to anti-racist work.
We proudly display our Reconciling Works logo on our front door and our certificate is located just inside the foyer. We want our siblings in Christ to know that we are a safe setting for them to enter.
St. Matthew’s is proud to be a RIC Setting! ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!
